Yes. Yes you can.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

With just a tiny bit of work, It’ll lay frame very comfortably. Oh and it still rolls.

It does scrape. It does it very well. But still rolls.

Did you have to permanently modify any of the running gear?

Nope. It can all be put back to stock relatively easily. On the back, the shocks are just taken off and the tire is sitting on the edge of the arch.

However, you do have to make a new steering rack to account for the camber.

Thanks. I’m asking because now I want to stance my Lego unimog. Your work here is complete.

I am going to have to confiscate that from you now.

Hmmmmm......The Unimog is going to be a little different because of the solid axles. They’re rather bulky and could have been done a bit better in my opinion. You would have to seriously do some work on the frame to get it to still be sturdy and get the lows. It’s totally possible though.

How long did it take you to put yours together? I just finished the steering on mine. I’ve had it for a few weeks but have barely had a chance to touch it with work and home maintenance/yard.

Don’t worry. It was put back to stock as soon as the pictures were done.

I pulled a marathon build with a few interruptions. Total build time was about 8 and a bit hours. Although I do not recommend that at all. I have a good few posts about it.

I just wanted to see how easy it would be to do so. It’s ridiculously easy.

But you only ruined the front.

The back would basically lay frame without the camber. And the mounts for the suspension were harder to get to. I could try it though.

Good lord. I think I have 5 hours into mine and am only on page 140 or so out of 600. Granted, I have never assembled Legos before and took a long time trying to organize all of the parts into their own like for like containers.

Stick with it. Lego Technic is a difficult anyway. This set is so in depth that I would not recommend it as a first but I think it’s great that it’s your first. Usually I just sort mine by the bags they come in. I generally do speedbuilds on mine. I did the F40 in 3 and a bit hours, the Unimog in a day, the Batman Tumbler in 7 hours..... Yeah. I’m a bit obsessed.

You’re making good progress for a n00b. I’d skip sorting the pieces on the rest of the boxes. I have a bunch of pyrex and/or corningware dishes that I dump parts bags into, one bag per dish. Big bags might get split to 2 dishes but that’s rare. You’ll learn which parts are in which bags pretty quickly. Sorting just wastes time you could be building.

I’m currently working on the new Big Ben set. It’s a monster. I think I built the 911 in about 12 hours, but I had a lot of interruptions. Half of it was built in race control at COTA during X Games :)

Upon seeing the first picture and the title in the feed, I assumed you had somehow crashed it. Now it see it just caught some temporary StanceBro-itis. Now I’m not sure whether I’m more or less sad for that. Either way, you have the kit and I am extremely jealous. Carry on you lucky bastard you.

I do that. I have some small little plastic trays for it.
